Source: Daffodil. Form: Lyophilized powder. Narcissus pseudonarcissus lectin (NPL) is isolated from daffodils. It exists as a dimeric protein composed of two subunits of 13 kDa. Below pH 5.0 and above pH 9.0 NPL dissociates into monomers. This lectin has specificity toward alpha linked mannose. NPL are used in characterisation of early stages of apoptosis and are mitogenic for human lymphocytes.
